To stop the incessant clamoring from our loyal readers and rabid fans, we’ve decided to add some additional content each month around our jobs data. In addition to our monthly jobs forecast that we publish on this blog a few days prior to the official Employment Situation Report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) on the 1st Friday of each month, we are going to begin hosting a monthly webinar to walk through our data, discuss our jobs forecast for the month just ended, and issue a preliminary forecast for the following month. To whatever extent they are apparent to us, we will also provide a few other data points, insights, and observations gleaned from our index of over 2 million job openings indexed from 50,000 company websites. The format will very informal and the webinar should not last any longer than 30 minutes.
The first webinar will be held this Thursday, May 1st at 4:00 PM CST. If you are interested, please register here.
This will be the first webinar we’ve hosted on our data so be patient and kind as we work out the kinks and hopefully turn it into something interesting and useful. It also happens to be the case that this first webinar will be hosted the same day that our data for April comes out (we always wait until the actual end of the month to run our monthly reports) so I’ll be scrambling a bit to run the reports through our model, analyze the data, issue our forecast, and put a bunch of slides together. (sold yet on what a terrific event this will be?) If nothing else, years from now you can legitimately tell your friends, family, and colleagues that you actually heard the very first LinkUp jobs webinar.
